I have never felt the need to believe in a higher entity. The world, with all its beauty and complexity, seems to me explainable through science and reason. I do not find comfort in prayers or rituals, but rather in the observation of nature, in art, music and human connections.<br>The idea of a god who judges and punishes seems incompatible with the love and compassion that I believe are fundamental to a meaningful life.
